Tips and troubleshooting

Quick fixes when a print doesn’t show up or something looks off.

A print doesn’t show up

Wait about 30 seconds, then tap Refresh on Logs or on that printer’s Print Log. Make sure the printer in Print Manager is linked to the same Mac printer you actually used (check Printer Settings). If your Mac lists the same device more than once (USB vs AirPrint), turn on Also count prints from for those other entry points.

App was closed when you printed

When Print Manager opens again, it looks for finished prints since each printer’s last log entry (and up to about a week of history for a brand-new printer) and adds anything it missed.

Big paper, same page count

An 11×17 (tabloid) sheet and an 8.5×11 (letter) sheet each count as one page. When your Mac reports the size, Logs shows it in the Paper column.

Mac says the app is damaged

That usually means macOS blocked an unsigned download. In Finder, right-click Print Manager → OpenOpen, or use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.

I deleted a printer by mistake

Removal is permanent for that printer’s data in Print Manager. You can add the printer again, but past jobs for it won’t come back.
