What Fern uses
Fern looks at the transactions, receipts, and order exports you uploaded. It compares dates, amounts, and merchant details. Certain features send limited transaction, receipt, or order information to selected model providers to generate those suggestions.
What you still decide
Fern suggests. You confirm, change, or skip. Nothing is final without your action.
Limitations
- Fern does not connect to your bank
- Fern does not file taxes or replace a bookkeeper
- Fern can be wrong about a merchant or a match — treat every card as a proposal
- Fern only knows what is in this workspace, not accounts you have not uploaded
If a chat-style prompt appears during Review, it is still working from those same records.
